I just had a revelation.

It has to do with the word:
cul-de-sac.

It's French!

cul- end
de- of
sac- bag

But the funny thing is, "cul" is a vulgar word for one's anus.

So, "cul-de-sac" refers to the end of a way...a nasty one!
